Good morning lovelies, what's for breakfast today? For an early bird like me on an usual day, I would prefer to bake something yummy than the same old big English breakfast. With that said, today recipe is a type of French pastry called Madeleines. They are so easy to make and delicious. Without further ado, let's get down to the ingredients and steps.
Ingredients:
- 3 large eggs
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon or orange zest
- 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 200C/400F. Brush the madeleine tray with melted butter then shake in a little flour to coat, tapping out the excess.
- Whisk together the eggs and the sugar in a bowl until frothy. Lightly whisk in the remaining ingredients. Leave to stand for 20 minutes before carefully pouring into the prepared madeleine tray.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture has risen a little in the middle and is fully cooked through. Transfer the madeleines to a wire rack and leave for a few minutes to cool slightly. These are best beaten within an hour of cooking.
Voila! Now it's ready to be served.
