French Film Fancy: Amelie
Now, I'm not one of those people who watches films over and over again, when it comes to sitting down and picking a movie, i'm much more likely to go for something a bit obscure that i've never seen before. Saying that, Amelie is one of those films that i can watch again and again and still love it as much as i did the first time, if not more! It is slightly cutsie and kitsch but there's something i love about that. After watching it i always feel like immediately get a blunt bob and fringe ala Audrey Tautou, only problem is, i don't quite have the delicate pixie-like features she does in order to pull it off.

The Perfect Mid-week Supper- Fig, Goats Cheese and Butternut Squash salad.
Happy Tuesday! If you are lacking inspiration for your mid-week meals, heres a quick, easy, healthy and delicious recipe for you to try. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Serves 3-4
- 6-8 Figs cut into 1/8.
- Half a large Butternut Squash
- Rapeseed oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Garlic granules
- Soft or hard goats cheese (i use whichever is in my fridge at the time!)
- Mixed salad (Rocket, spinach, watercress, lettuce)
- Toasted Pine nuts.
- Squeeze of lemon.
Method:
- Pre-heat the oven at 180degrees.
- Peel and chop the butter nut squash into bite size squares. Cover generously with the oil, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic granules then pop in the oven for 25-30mins.
- When the squash is nearly done prep the figs and goats cheese by chopping to your desired size. I like to cut my figs into little wedges. If i have hard goats cheese i will use a potato peeler to create soft swirls, and if its soft then cubes work best.
- Layer up! I start with any green leaves at the bottom, layer over the butternut squash, the cheese on top of that (as it melts a little which is delicious!) then the figs. I like to add a sprinkling of pine nuts and a good squeeze of lemon but thats optional!
- Feel smug about your pretty salad (instagram it) and demolish!

NYFW: Street Style Round Up.
The style reflected the city; sleek, modern and cool. Elevated classics and clean lines were the port of call. With a fairly neutral palette fashionistas played with texture and proportion making the streets of New York all the more enticing. Of course the shows themselves were a thing of beauty, but watch out for that in a few weeks in our Spring 2015 round up...

Bestival 2014 - Desert Island Disco
It was big, it was bold, it was brilliant, but lets just say 3 days on, i'm still feeling fairly fragile. Curated by Rob and Josie Da Bank, Bestival transports you to another world, one where giant disco balls, washed up ships and trees that speak are just the norm. The theme was Desert Island Disco and everyone stepped up to the mark, there were; Cacti, Pineapple, Parrot and Arab costumes to name but a few.
There really was something for everyone with a plethora of different stages and venues, the music ranged from acoustic to dance, reggae to rock and everything in between. I most certainly got my groove on all weekend and some musical highlights included; Outkast, Disclosure, Major Lazer, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Sam Smith, London Grammar, Chvrches....the list goes on. There was such a good vibe over the whole weekend and i rather reluctantly got on the ferry and returned to the real world which I can safely say its not nearly as magical but i was more than thankful for a shower and a comfy bed...
Thanks Bestval! See you next year!
